Beau’s FeBREWary Week 3 – Belgian-style Black Ale

Vankleek Hill, Ontario – Tapping this week at 370+ pubs, restaurants and retailers across Ontario and Québec is Belgian-style Black Ale, brewed for week 3 of Beau’s Brewing’s feBREWary. A black ale with Belgian influence, this Farm Table Series beer is a showcase of roasted chocolate and black malts, to which monastery ale yeast adds a characteristically Belgian spiced finish.

Beau’s Farm Table Series are sessionable beers brewed true to classic or emerging beer styles. A modern classic, this ale pours obsidian with a tan foam. The aroma offers notes of dark chocolate, espresso and a touch of cinnamon and star anise from the use of Belgian yeast. The flavour consists of dark malt, dried fruit and peppery spice, while the finish is dry and imparts lingering spice.

Belgian-style Black Ale is 5.6 % ABV, 30 IBUs, and is best served in a Brussels glass at 6-8 C. The Beau’s kitchen team recommends pairing with Double Gloucester cheese, blood pudding, cassoulet, or vanilla ice cream. This new beer will be on tap this week across Ontario and Québec at Beau’s 370+ feBREWary partners – to see a full list, visit beaus.ca/feBREWary. It is also available by the bottle beginning Feb. 15 (tomorrow) from the Beau’s Tap Room in Vankleek Hill, while quantities last. Beau’s month-long feBREWary celebrations will continue next week with the release of Do No Evil, a sake lager brewed with rice and aged on sake-soaked oak.
