Toronto, Ontario – Henderson’s monthly ‘Ides’ series uses creative recipes to bring the history, characters and locations throughout Toronto to life. This month they have collaborated with award-winning Toronto
bakery Rosen’s Cinnamon Buns to create their latest brew, the Ides of December “By Any Other Name” Cinnamon Bun Stout. The name of the beer riffs on both the baker’s last name, and the the famous Shakespeare “What’s in a name” speech. The Ides of December will launch Friday, December 14th at 6pm sharp at the Sterling Road Brewery.
“We often look back into Toronto history for inspiration, and we feel like Amy and Rosen’s is part of the city’s future, so we wanted to switch it up a bit for this month’s Ides.” explains Brewery GM Steve Himel.
“We have been big fans of Amy and her cinnamon buns since we first tried ‘em, and we love drinking beer while we eat them – combining the two seemed like a fun thing to try!” laughs Henderson’s Head Brewer James Turco.
“Pairing a stout with the sweet, cinnamon flavours of the buns for a December beer felt right” says Amy Rosen, founder of Rosen’s Cinnamon Buns, located on College street in Toronto “It’s the holiday season, and a beer like this feels especially festive.”
Complimentary samples of the latest brew will be available on Friday night at 6 sharp at the launch for everyone in attendance, and Rosen’s will have free cinnamon buns on-hand too. By Any Other Name has aromatic notes of vanilla and cinnamon, with roasty and warming flavour. It’s 10% ABV, and will be available on tap and in 650ml bottles at the brewery, for a limited time only, while supplies last.
