Toronto, Ontario – With the latest upgrade to LCBO’s mobile app, customers can browse and buy at the same time, making mobile device-based shopping for more than 5,000 products fast, secure and user-friendly. Coupled with LCBO’s adoption of digital wallet platforms, including Apple Pay, customers can make purchases with the touch of a thumbprint, eliminating the need to input credit card information.
“Customers were quick to adopt online shopping with the LCBO when we launched our e-commerce platform less than a year ago, and we heard their feedback that the ability to make purchases directly within the app was something they were looking for,” said Michael Eubanks, senior vice president, Information Technology and CIO. “With over 60 per cent of customer traffic coming from mobile devices it made sense to prioritize this feature, further enabling our customers to shop with us whenever, wherever and however they choose.”
“We see mobile commerce as the foundation for our in-store digital strategy,” adds Kerri Dawson, vice president, Marketing. “Enabling the payment function on the app is an important step as we plan for additional initiatives, including expedited delivery and click and collect fulfillment for e-commerce, and location-based mobile alerts and messaging.”
With the ability to create a favourites list, scan bar codes, and search for products based on the nearest location, the LCBO mobile app is a trusted tool for customers looking for product, pricing and inventory information. The LCBO is pleased to count itself among the top Canadian retailers offering the function to build a shopping cart and pay for purchases within their consumer app.
The LCBO app is available via the Apple and Google app stores. A short video highlighting the app’s functions can be viewed here.
