Nita’s Craft Holiday Beer Calendar

Ottawa, Ontario – Nita Beer is excited to announce that pre-sales of the second annual Craft Holiday Beer has begun. It’s like an Advent Calendar but with beer! 20 breweries from Ottawa, Kingston, Hamilton and the GTA are participating to make this an awesome craft beer adventure. Each participating brewery will include 1 or 2 beers from their delicious beer offerings in the 2-4 case. Would you like to know what beers they are? Sorry … that’s part of the surprise!

“Last year, people across Ontario were excited to venture through the Ottawa beer options” said Andy Nita, Chief Beer Officer at Nita. “We had tons of great feedback with some constructive critique so we have made some tweaks to the beer selection and have more options for customers to get their hands on one of these exclusive boxes”.

Nita has invited breweries from Ottawa to Hamilton to participate with a variety of beers. Similar to last year, Nita will have the same Canada Post delivery option as liquor laws prevent customers from picking up in store. In addition, Nita will have local delivery options to improve shipping costs and will introduce a pick-up at Beer Stores from Ottawa to Toronto.

More details about what Beer Stores will be carrying the box and when they will be available can be found on nitabeer.com.

Everyone who purchases a Holiday Craft Beer Calendar online will have 24 beers delivered to them in November. The beer calendar will include an identifier numbered for each day of December until the 24th. Every day in December until the 25th, people can get their beer surprise!

The breweries participating include some favourites from last year’s adventure including Brasserie Tuque de Broue, Kichesippi Beer, Covered Bridge Brewing, Crooked Mile Brewing, Cartwright Springs, Broadhead Brewing, Whiprsnapr Brewing, Clocktower Brew Pub and new collaborators including Riverhead Brewing (Kingston), 5 Paddles (Whitby), Junction Craft Brewery (Toronto), Left Field Brewery (Toronto), People’s Pint (Toronto), Grain & Grit (Hamilton), Weatherhead (Perth), Ridgerock Brewing (Carp), Etienne Brule (Embrun), Evergreen (Ottawa), Calabogie Brewing (Calabogie/Ottawa).

“Going from 12 to 20 breweries is going to challenge Nita’s logistics, especially with out-of-town breweries participating”, said Bridget Carey of Nita. “However, the enthusiasm from last year’s offering and many inquiries over the summer have proven that Ontarians love their craft beer and Nita will do what it takes to get this beer to them.

”Similar to last year, plans include sales throughout Ontario. Because liquor laws for shipping across Canada are quite complicated, sales will be limited to customers with an Ontario address for delivery. Customers can also visit one of the participating Beer Store locations starting in November to start their beer adventure.

Last year, Nita included individually-crafted 24 wooden coasters to top every beer box. This year, there will be dated cards will adorn every beer with surprises on every advent date for customers to enjoy.

Pre-sales begin early October and interested buyers can purchase from nitabeer.com. Beer Calendars will be delivered throughout November. Delivery to select Ontario Beer Stores will begin early November. Quantities are limited.
