Official Craft Beer Zone Launch at Summerhill LCBO

Toronto, Ontario – On September 17th, 2015 the LCBO hosted their official launch of its Craft Beer Zones with a unique LCBO Growlergrowler station at the Summerhill LCBO store in Toronto, enhancing choice for Ontario’s consumers.  The LCBO plans to open 25 locations provincewide, the Craft Beer Zones are innovative new marketing displays that highlight the Province’s work to increase market exposure for small and craft brewers.

The new growler station at the Summerhill LCBO will feature three Ontario craft beers. “Growlers” are reusable glass containers that hold 1.89 litres (almost 6 bottles) of freshly-dispensed beer straight from the keg. To enhance the overall craft beer experience, consumers can also sample the featured brands for a nominal fee.

Speaking at the press conference was Charles Sousa the Minister of Finance, Bob Peter the LCBO President & CEO and Cam Heaps, Chair of Ontario Craft Brewers and Co-Founder of Steam Whistle Brewing.
