Toronto, Ontario – Ontario craft beer company Old Tomorrow and Jon Montgomery, Olympic Gold Medalist and host of The Amazing Race Canada, have announced a high-spirited collaboration in launching new beers into Manitoba.
A proud Canadian from Russell, Manitoba, Jon captured the nation’s heart with his historic skeleton victory, topped off with a spontaneous celebration with his second passion – a pitcher of beer.
In this ground-breaking alliance, Jon and Old Tomorrow created Monty’s Golden Ryed Ale, a handcrafted ale aged in rye whisky and oak. This mellow, easy-drinking beer celebrates Jon’s iconic “golden ride” with a laid back flavour with subtle notes of honey and vanilla. Monty’s joins Old Tomorrow’s Canadian Pale Ale (CPA), a full bodied approachable beer designed specifically for Canadian tastes with a clean smooth finish. CPA won best beer at Session Toronto Festival, Bronze at Ontario Brewing Awards and is now in the top 10% of Ontario craft beers.
“There’s no better way to celebrate life’s victories than with a nice tall cold one,” said Montgomery. “I’ve been thrilled to work with Old Tomorrow to create Monty’s, as we share a deep love for the values that make Canada the greatest country in the world. Their approach to making distinctive kick-ass craft beer reflects this love affair in every way possible.”
“Monty’s is true to Jon’s Prairie roots, reflecting his easy going personality,” says Ian Macdonald Old Tomorrow co-founder. “We’re into celebrating Canadian greatness and Jon is a true modern day hero.”
