(TORONTO) June 10, 2014 – Cheers Ontario! It’s time to celebrate the ‘Real People behind the Real Beer’ of Ontario’s craft brewing industry.
OCB Week 2015 launches Friday, June 12 with 225+ craft beer events in 45 communities across the province. For the first time ever, an official Ontario collaboration beer, brewed by 25+ Ontario Craft Brewers will be released to breweries, pubs and restaurants throughout the province.
“We’re very excited about this year’s OCB Week,” says Darren Smith, president, Lake of Bays Brewing Co. and chair of Ontario Craft Beer Week 2015. “There are tons of cool events, a delicious, one-off collaboration beer (with proceeds going to the Ontario Association of Food Banks), a fantastic social media contest that is already underway. It going to be a great week to experience Ontario Craft Beer!”
SPIRIT OF COLLABORATION: ONTARIO TABLE BEER (4% alc./vol.)
The OCB Week 2015 collaboration beer was brewed on Friday, May 8th by 25+ Ontario Craft Brewers at Great Lakes Brewing.
“Ontario Craft Brewers enjoy sharing more than just pints,” says Troy Burtch, Sales & Community Manager, Great Lakes Brewery and member of the OCB Week planning committee coordinating the OCB Week official beer. “We love to brew beer together and share information, recipes, brewing tips, and more. We had a fun and spirited day of collaboration.”
This sessionable yet flavourful Ontario Table Beer was brewed with yeast from Niagara Escarpment. Unfiltered and naturally cloudy, this unique Table Beer has aromas of apple, vanilla and hints of funk. Light in body, touch of lemon and tangerine with some barnyard notes. 4% alc./vol.
