Ontario Premier says no to beer sales in Convenience stores

Toronto, Ontario – Premier Kathleen Wynne has said in the past change is coming but on Monday she stated “We’re not going to have beer kathleen wynnein convenience stores. There is change coming however”.

At this time she hasn’t said that beer won’t be sold in supermarkets.

Ed Clark the former TD Bank chair is looking into The Beer Store and how it handles business in Ontario.  It will be interesting for craft beer drinkers and brewers when Finance Minister Charles Sousa puts forward his budget in March.  We do know the government is looking at some sort of change that may include a franchise fee for The Beer Store.

Craft beer drinkers can expect change, just how much or little change we don’t know.
