Society of Beer Drinking Ladies and Henderson Brewing Release Second Collaboration Beer

Toronto, Ontario – The Society of Beer Drinking Ladies is thrilled to announce the release of their second collaboration beer in an on-going partnership with Henderson Brewing Co., Brew 0002: Vanilla Orchid Brown Ale. This new beer has hit LCBO and craft beer bars around Ontario this week.

Henderson Brewing Co. and the Society of Beer Drinking Ladies (SOBDL) collaborate on numerous projects – most recently with Brew 0001: Blood Orange Saison, which was released in April 2019. Henderson has also hosted three SOBDL Lady Beer Fests. “This organization is important and necessary and does a lot of really good work within the Ontario Craft Beer Industry,” says Henderson VP of Sales, Adin Wener. “We work really hard to foster an environment of respect and gender equality here at the brewery, and our values are very much aligned with the SOBDL.”

“We love brewing one-off collabs with breweries across the province, and have for years, but it is really great to create an ongoing partnership with Henderson and share a permanent listing in retail,” says Erica Campbell, SOBDL co-founder and Sales Manager at Henderson.

Brew 0002: Vanilla Orchid Brown Ale is a 5% English Brown Ale, brewed with Vanilla Orchid Rooibos tea. “This summer, it made sense to brew a juicy and refreshing beer,” says SOBDL co-founder Jamie Dobbs. “Now that winter’s on its way, it felt right to collaborate on something that is warming and smooth. Something that would make you feel cozy.” Never missing an opportunity to bring more women into the fold, the Society of Beer Drinking Ladies partnered up with teAlchemy, a female-owned, Toronto-based tea distributor. More than 20 pounds of the tea blend are used in each batch, added directly into the fermenter. The result is a light brown ale with earthy vanilla aromas, and notes of oatmeal raisin cookies, hazelnut and amaretto.

Brew 0002 has hit LCBO shelves province-wide as of October 16, 2019, and will also be available in grocery stores, at Henderson’s Sterling Road Bottle Shop, and in select bars and restaurants across the GTA. It will be on shelves through Spring 2020, when the the two partners are set to release their next collaboration, Brew 0003.
