Kitchener, Ontario – Brick Brewing Co. Limited (“Brick” or the “Company”) (TSX: BRB), Ontario’s largest Canadian-owned brewery, today announced that its craft beer division, Waterloo Brewing Co. took home seven awards from Monde Selection in Belgium. Monde Selection is the internationally recognized standard of consumer product excellence, providing quality ratings in all consumer categories including beer.
“This year every style of beer from our craft brewing division was awarded a gold or silver medal; which can be compared to a restaurant achieving the prestige and excellence of two or three Michelin stars,” said Bill Henry, Director of Quality and Logistics.
Waterloo Amber received special recognition with the International High Quality Trophy Award for 2016, having achieved superior gold product quality in each of the last three years. Waterloo Grapefruit Radler also won Gold for outstanding product quality. Waterloo IPA, Dark and Pilsner each took home a Silver medal, as did the seasonal craft brews of Waterloo Spiced Dunkel and Smoked Applewood Roggen.
“An internationally recognized and renowned quality award like these, assures consumers that the product they intend to buy has been tested and approved by a collaboration of the best Belgian experts in their respective fields,” said Russell Tabata, Chief Operating Officer. “So you can just image how thrilled we are to see all of the hard work and efforts of our brewing team acknowledged by such a prestigious organization.”
