Vankleek Hill, Ontario – Beau’s Brewing Co. and DAVIDsTEA Inc. (Nasdaq:DTEA) have created a collaborative brew to launch this fall, fusing two widely enjoyed beverages: tea and beer.
As Canadian companies that are obsessed with crafting innovative blends for all, the DAVIDsTEA London Fog beer is a unique recipe concept that infuses Organic Cream of Earl Grey tea into a decadent golden ale that’s brewed with lactose (milk sugar) and rich vanilla. The surprisingly wonderful result is the creamy, comforting experience of an Earl Grey latte, in a certified organic craft beer— showcasing the unique expertise of this craft brewery and iconic tea brand. DAVIDsTEA London Fog will be widely available this fall in 473 ml cans at LCBO and grocery in Ontario, and dépanneurs and grocery in Québec.
“We wanted a world-class tea to make this a world-class beer, so we reached out to the tea masters at DAVIDsTEA for ideas and inspiration,” says Beau’s Brewmaster Matthew O’Hara. “Their Organic Cream of Earl Grey was exactly the right blend, with the beer enhancing the inherent qualities of that tea, including its full flavour.”
Earl Grey tea is known for containing oil of bergamot, a distinctly fragrant citrus fruit. To brew DAVIDsTEA London Fog, Organic Cream of Earl Grey tea goes into the kettle, along with organic Jarrylo (yar-i-low) hops that echo the bergamot in the tea. Milk sugar and oats in the brew add a touch of sweetness and body, and vanilla flavour adds the finishing touch to this smooth, full flavoured 5.3 % alc./vol. ale.
