With the vast majority of travel outside of the country at a standstill and no clear path to reopening, summer 2020 is being dubbed “the summer of the road trip.” Truly, Ontario has a lot to offer, and now is a great opportunity to explore all of it.
“The partnership with our friends at Sawdust City is intended to highlight the similarities of the Kawarthas and Muskoka, says Mathew Renda, General Manager, Fenelon Falls Brewing Co.“and to invite new and returning visitors to come and explore.”
“The Kawartha Lakes and Muskoka economies rely heavily on tourism. Now more than ever we need to come together to support and showcase the beauty that Muskoka and the Kawarthas have to offer,” continues Renda.
The result is Rural Jewel, a Belgian wheat beer (5.3 % ABV, 15 IBUs) that combines citrus zest, ginger notes and a rich, creamy body. Head brewer Russell Gibson, says the recipe was “aimed at creating a truly unique flavour profile. Our brewing vision is to make beer styles very approachable, catering to the laid-back style found in the Kawarthas.”
“Brewing with Russell and the team from Fenelon Falls was fantastic. Such a beautiful space in such a beautiful place! Really stoked about this collab. Summer is the perfect time to enjoy a dry, spicy, super citrusy Belgian-style Witbier. It’s been a blast from start to finish on this one, and I hope y’all enjoy drinkin’ it as much as we did makin’ it. Cheers!” says Sam Corbeil, Brewmaster at Sawdust City.
Rural Jewel is available at the Bottleshop and Taproom at Fenelon Falls Brewing.
