Toronto, Ontario – Great Lakes Brewery (GLB) is once again pleased to announce that they’ll be “fighting to end hunger in our communities” with the annual Hops for Hunger Food Drive in support of Daily Bread Food Bank.
Kicking off on November 29th, and running for the duration of December, any customer who purchases a can of ‘Daily Bread White Eggnog Stout’ will help contribute $1 to their Etobicoke neighbours at Daily Bread.
Cans of this specialty beer will sell for $4 at the GLB retail store at 30 Queen Elizabeth Blvd, Etobicoke and $1 from each can sold will be donated. This beer will also be available on draught in the brewery taproom and $1 from each 12oz pour will also be donated.
“We are thrilled to kick-off our 11th annual Hops for Hunger campaign with the release of our White Eggnog Stout,” stated Peter Bulut, Owner and President of GLB. ”The beer, which we made in support of Daily Bread for the first time in 2018, and was very much sought after, weighs in at 5%, features notes of, well, eggnog, and makes the perfect companion during the holiday season.”
He added, “I look forward to this campaign each December. Community means so much to us here at the brewery and we couldn’t be happier to partner with Daily Bread again this holiday season. They continue to do amazing work in communities around the city of Toronto.”
GLB will also be encouraging customers coming into the brewery retail store to donate any non-perishable food items, along with baby food and diapers. Customers can drop items in the yellow Daily Bread collection bin located within the store and GLB will provide a complimentary 5oz sample.
“We are excited for the return of the Daily Bread White Eggnog Stout,” says Neil Hetherington, CEO, Daily Bread Food Bank. “Thanks to the generous support of our friends at Great Lakes Brewery through Hops for Hunger, hundreds of families experiencing hunger will be able to access healthy, nutritious food this holiday season.”
Last year, thanks to the support of the local Ontario and Etobicoke beer communities, GLB was able to donate over $5000 and hundreds of pounds of much needed food to Daily Bread and would like to build on that once again with this campaign.
