Bracebridge, Ontario – Muskoka Brewery has released two beers for the fall season. The first is Muskoka Brewery’s Harvest Ale – Dry hopped and brewed using a selection of premium ingredients, Harvest Ale has a rich malt backbone and a subtle grassy character reminiscent of the freshly cut harvest.
This year Muskoka Brewery has opted to provide Harvest Ale in their reusable 341-millitres bottles, as a six-pack, instead of the traditional 750 ml format.
“In response to requests from our loyal Muskoka fans we have switched our Harvest Ale from a 750-ml bottle to six 341-ml,” said Gary McMullen, president and founder of Muskoka Brewery. “This allows for individual enjoyment of our fall seasonal and the ability to easily share with friends or family.”
Specialty beers are now being enjoyed like a fine wine. With the intricacies, attention to detail and variety of styles, food connoisseurs and wine drinkers are starting to get intrigued by craft beer offerings.
“Ten years ago people weren’t sitting around talking about the nuances of a beer. We design our specialty beers to do just that, get people thinking and talking about beer differently,” said McMullen.
Muskoka Brewery will also be selling its fourth beer in their Moonlight Kettle Series at select LCBOs in September. Only twice a year does this happen, typically the brews are available only at the brewery’s tap room.
The series was started to allow Muskoka Brewery staff the creativity and freedom to brew beers they experiment with on a small scale.
“Our Moonlight Kettle Series gives us the ability to add a variety of new styles to our seasonal lineup,” said president and founder Gary McMullen.
Each beer is released in limited quantities throughout the year, one per month. The first release in the series was Summer Saison, followed by White IPA, Just Peachy (a peach kölsch) and now Mosaic Single Hop.
The Moonlight Kettle Mosaic Single Hop offers tropical fruit flavours of mango and fruit passion followed with a smooth bitterness.
The Moonlight Kettle Mosaic Single Hop is 4.7 per cent ABV, 30 IBUs and is deep gold in appearance. It pairs well with mild seafood such as shrimp, or Thai mango chicken.
Watch for both these beers at the LCBO and at the brewery’s retail store.
