Guelph, Ontario – A group of Ontario craft breweries have raised $7,316 to support the struggling hospitality industry that has been devastated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Rising Tide Collaboration Mix Pack led by Wellington Brewery featured 4 unique collaboration beers created with fellow Ontario craft brewers including Great Lakes Brewery, Muskoka Brewery, Nickel Brook Brewing, and Cameron’s Brewing.
Together, these independent craft breweries launched the seasonal mix pack at LCBO stores across the province with a portion of the proceeds from each sale going to support SaveHospitalityCA, an advocacy group made up of over 1,000 + independent restaurants from across Canada.
“It is so meaningful that our craft brewery partners took it upon themselves to raise both funds and awareness for the plight of our entire restaurant economic ecosystem. Together, we fight on to get to the other side of this pandemic” says John Sinopoli of SaveHospitalityCA.
The donation will help SaveHospitalityCA in advocating for government support and reforms that help small businesses and hospitality workers who have been impacted by the pandemic.
“We launched the Rising Tide project as a way to celebrate the 35th anniversary of our brewery and I’m glad we could find a way to give back and support restaurants and bars who have been such huge supporters of independent craft beer over the years” says Wellington Brewery president Brent Davies. “We’re all in this together and now more than ever we need to support small businesses”.
With many restaurants on the brink of closing you can support your local restaurants this holiday season by ordering takeout, buying gift cards, or going out for a meal (where it’s possible). To learn more about the #SaveHospitalityCA campaign visit their website.
