Thunder Bay, Ontario – Sleeping Giant Brewing Company is excited to announce details of the 2nd annual Craft Cares movement. From January 1st until Valentine’s Day, for every Sleeping Giant Brewing Company product sold at participating Licensee locations, $0.50 will be donated to local charities and organizations.
As a part of the movement, each participating Licensee is being provided with the opportunity to select a local charity of their choice. To date over 80 licensees have committed to participate in the fundraising initiative. This year’s Craft Cares movement has also expanded outside of the Thunder Bay area, now including Burlington, Cobalt, Cochrane, Dryden, Fort Frances, Hearst, Kapuskasing, Kirkland Lake, Little Current, Longlac, Nipissing, North Bay, Red Lake, Sault Ste. Marie, Sioux Lookout, St. Joseph’s Island, Sudbury, Timmins, and Whitefish Falls.
“Through Craft Cares, our team is helping our Licensees make a positive impact with the charities and organizations that they care about, giving back, one beer at a time. This is a way of using the popularity of craft beer as a vehicle to do good, with each beer making a difference. Sleeping Giant Brewing Company is thrilled to partner with our licensees and contribute funding where it matters most,” says Sleeping Giant Brewing Company Co-founder & CEO, Andrea Mulligan. “It’s pretty neat to see Craft Cares expand into the province this year, and our team has hopes to see other breweries jump on board in years to come.”
Sleeping Giant Brewing Company also introduced its first-ever Rosé beer in support of the 2020 Craft Cares movement. The Craft Cares Rosé Ale is an innovative beer inspired by the classic Rosé wine. “With a touch of raspberry, a hint of dried hibiscus flowers, and subtle sweetness, this deep pink beer is perfect for wine and beer fans alike. Rosé Ale is a drink for all occasions and seasons with a wonderful fruity aroma but slightly tart finish, ” explains Sleeping Giant Brewing Company, Co-Founder & Head Brewer, Kyle Mulligan. “It’s a diverse brew that compliments the mission of Craft Cares.”
Last year, Sleeping Giant Brewing Company donated a grand total of $11,380 to 32 local charities and organizations, with 46 Licensees participating in Craft Cares. “Sleeping Giant Brewing Company was truly moved by the efforts of the community to give back. From the very beginning, the brewery has always been thinking local. The community has supported us over the years, so this is our way of saying thank you. If the brewery has the means and ability to help contribute to local causes through our work, we will do just that. As Sleeping Giant Brewing Company continues to grow, we feel that it is our responsibility to make our community the most awesome place it can be,” says Sleeping Giant Brewing Company Manager, Kevin Brewer.
At the end of February, Sleeping Giant Brewing Company will announce the grand total of funding raised through Craft Cares. To see a full list of participating licensees and benefiting charities and organizations in your community, visit sleepinggiantbrewing.ca/craftcares.
